Zeitgeist Films

the spirit of the times

  • Photo
Directed by Emmy-Award-winning filmmakers Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine (Ballets Russes), this entertaining and inspiring documentary nimbly maps the creation of an industry that went on to become the single greatest engine of innovation and economic growth in the 20th century. Told by the visionary risk-takers who dared to make it happen—Tom Perkins, Don Valentine, Arthur Rock, Dick Kramlich and others—the film also features the audacious industrialists behind such groundbreaking companies as Intel, Apple, Cisco, Atari, Genentech, PowerPoint and Tandem. Our lives would be dramatically different without the contributions that these venture capitalist pioneers and their entrepreneurial partners have made to the creation of life-saving drugs, personal computers and the Internet.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love is in the air over here at Zeitgeist… and it’s made us uncharacteristically generous. Not only did we make TWO valentines for you to print out for that someone special - we also compiled a list of movies we think you’ll find ultra-romantic (in different ways).

First, the cards. This one’s from Vision, because nothing says “I love you” like a vow of celibacy… right?

And here’s one from Cell 211, winner of eight Goya Awards (!).

Click through for links to synopses!

Now if you’re still looking for something to watch, may we recommend these fine films:

In love with your work? BILL CUNNINGHAM NEW YORK

In love with the hot traveler with whom you accidentally switched bags on the train? STRANGERS

In love with chess, and the sexy looks across the board while you’re playing? QUEEN TO PLAY

In love with your fellow inmate? Or a disfigured scientist? POISON

Looking for a couple to emulate? CHRIS AND DON: A LOVE STORY

Looking for an epic international love story that endures persecution, war, imprisonment and locusts on two continents? NOWHERE IN AFRICA

Whatever you decide to watch, we just hope it’s not The Vow.

    All our love,

    R & M
